President 2009-2010, Aerospace Industry NightCoordinator 2009-2010, Space Science Expo Coordinator 2008

What were some of the highlights in your years of commitment? 

Managing the AESA team, talking with industrypersonnel and representatives to coordinate them in attending the AerospaceIndustry Night held annually in August. This was a really great opportunity forme to talk to and engage with members of the industry, a great opportunity fornetworking. I also had the pleasure of introducing the Aerospace StudentsAssociation to the first years as my role as President over the years2009-2010. Once again, a good opportunity for me to talk to those students justentering the program and explaining to them about the opportunities they haveavailable to them, whilst they study at RMIT. 

What did you get out of being in AESA?

I have developed some great friendships by beinginvolved with AESA. Rather than just working together on homework, trying tosolve problems, through AESA, I had the chance to get to know my fellowclassmates, as well as some of older students in higher year levels.Furthermore, I have also had the chance to engage with the lecturers on a morepersonal level, as they helped AESA with events such as the Aerospace IndustryNight.

AESA Events Organiser(2010)

What were some of the highlights in your year of commitment?

AESA organised fun andenjoyable events like the pool table competition, BBQ party and Booze Cruisewhere students can sit back and enjoy the social side of university life. TheBooze Cruise was probably the biggest and most successful event in terms of AESAsocial events in 2010. That night was a blast and we hope to organise events ofsimilar class in the future.

What did you get out of being in AESA?

What did I get out of it: The most important thing Igot out of being the Events Organiser was collaboration and communicationbetween people. No matter how brilliant your event is planned out to be, withno collaboration and communication, it is planned for failure. So these two elementsare the key to the success of any event. So start talking.

Got to organise social events (Booze cruise, Movie night, Pub crawl, BBQ etc.)

and made more friends

What did you get out of being in AESA?

I gained leadership and organisational skills, communication skills, time management due to extra work, and networking.
